Jody’s Memoir
From her darkest hour, Jody transforms unspeakable loss into a beacon of hope — proving that love can transcend even death when we choose to honor those we've lost through acts of kindness.
Jody's worst nightmare unfolded when she came home to emergency vehicles outside her house. Her daughter had died unexpectedly, just hours after an ordinary Costco trip together. Through prayer, a brief and miraculous return of Rosie's pulse, and two harrowing weeks in the ICU filled with life-and-death conversations, Jody endured the unthinkable.
She now channels that love into keeping Rosie's spirit alive — through kindness, community, and purpose.
Her memoir, Be A Rosie: Rising Through the Thorns, explores faith, family, and a life reoriented around love and kindness toward others. We are proud to share that it has been selected by a publisher and will be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble in late 2026. Every copy sold supports kindness initiatives in Rosie's name.

About the Author
Jody Tucker is a technical writer and former Assistant Program Manager for the U.S. Navy in San Diego, California. She lives in San Marcos with her husband Mike, son Luke, and their two dogs, Brie and Jack. A proud Ohio native, she holds both a B.S. and an M.S. and has built a career translating complex information into clear, compelling writing. As a family, the Tuckers love traveling the world, cooking, gardening, surfing, and making memories together. For fifteen years, motherhood was the beating heart of Jody's identity, and her daughter Rosie remained her greatest joy and inspiration. After losing Rosie unexpectedly in the summer of 2025, Jody channeled her grief into purpose, co-founding Be A Rosie, a kindness and charitable organization dedicated to spreading love in Rosie's name through community outreach, therapy dog training, and support for women entrepreneurs around the world. She has since resigned from her position with the Navy to pursue a new calling, returning to school to become a grief therapist. Through that work, and through speaking engagements, she looks forward to sharing her message of meaning-making through love and kindness with others who are finding their way through loss.
