At Be A Rosie, kindness knows no bounds, and that includes the animals and ecosystems that share our world. We are proud to launch our Wildlife Kindness Initiative, and our first project is close to our hearts. In 2023, Rosie visited Fiji and was completely in her element, snorkeling through crystal-clear waters, surrounded by colorful fish, pure joy on her face. That happiness stayed with us. When our t-shirt fundraiser exceeded expectations, we knew exactly where to direct the extra support: reef conservation in Fiji. We donated $500 to Ian of Fiji Surf Co, an ocean conservationist who builds experimental artificial reefs by casting dead coral into cinder blocks, a surface wild coral naturally adheres to, creating thriving new habitat for sea life. When Ian heard Rosie's story, he was moved to do something extraordinary. He designed a heart-shaped reef in her honor, built from those same coral blocks, to be laid on the ocean floor in her favorite place when the water temperature is just right. Beneath the waves of Fiji, Rosie's heart will live on, nurturing life, spreading beauty, and reminding us that kindness, like coral, grows when given the right conditions.
